Glamping pods and static lodges in Aberdeenshire countryside near Strachan, with shower facilities.
About Castlewood Leisure Park
Strachan sits in rural Aberdeenshire, a quiet corner of the northeast where moorland rolls into farmland. Castlewood Leisure Park brings accommodation to the area in the form of glamping pods and static lodges, a step up from traditional camping with proper shelter and beds.
The site has showers on-site. It suits anyone who wants a night away from home but prefers not to pitch a tent or tow a caravan, or simply wants a base closer to the Aberdeenshire landscape without the fuss of standard camping gear.

What visitors say
We booked this in October for a large family group of 20. We booked well in advance, booked time off work, and some family members are travelling from England with flights already booked. All plans were made based on the price that was advertised and explicitly confirmed in writing by Alison via email and Facebook message (screenshots available). With only weeks to go for our scheduled date, just 3 days before the full balance was due, Alison contacted us demanding an additional £1,000, claiming she had made a mistake with the original price. This is an example of misleading pricing practice, as the confirmed price was relied upon to make significant arrangements. If this was truly a “mistake,” she wouldn’t have sent the same prices on multiple days via email, Facebook, and even confirmed them over the phone. When we questioned this, she was extremely rude on the phone, offered no apology, said it was “not her fault,” and told us we must either pay the extra £1,000 or the booking would be cancelled. This caused unnecessary stress and put our entire trip at risk. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience. Would not recommend.

Just home after a 3 night weekend away here. The journey out here is well worth it for the peace. Such a beautiful place with amazing scenery in every direction and some fantastic walks only 20 minutes from the site. The hot tub and premises we stayed in were amazingly well cleaned and kept which can't be an easy task considering the amount of properties on site. Site manager was a delight and helped swiftly and efficiently when required. Will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone looking for a log cabin get away.

Spent a long weekend here and it was amazing. The lodge has everything you would need while Your there. Good size rooms and every well presented. It's nice and out the way but close enough still for a short drive into the local town where there is plenty shops and restaurants. Also there's plenty of walking spots as well as a bike park for some downhill mountin biking.

Just had a lovely Monday to Friday stay 7/6/2021, the lodge no. 17 was more than we expected. It had all home comforts, was spotlessly clean, complimentary tea, coffee, pint of milk and cereal. The hot tub just added to the relaxing atmosphere, we had a lovely view of the hills. Had a great stay would highly recommend it.
