Station Lodge

Stratford-on-Avon

View on Google Maps

Station Lodge began life as a railway station building in the 1880s and served that purpose until the 1940s. The Victorian structure now stands as a private holiday home between Moreton-in-Marsh and Shipston-on-Stour, in the heart of the Cotswolds. The owners live next door and have converted it into a comfortable base for groups of up to six.

The ground floor holds an open-plan living and dining space with a working fireplace, plus a full kitchen where you can prepare meals. There's a shower room and one bedroom on this level; upstairs, two further bedrooms are each paired with an en-suite bathroom. Essentials such as heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered, and wifi is available throughout. The property has private parking for three cars and an enclosed garden with patio and furniture for outdoor use.

The location suits families or friends wanting countryside access without isolation. Stretton-on-Fosse village is about a mile away with footpaths into surrounding fields, while the wider Cotswolds—including Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Cheltenham—are within easy reach. The building's railway heritage and solid Victorian bones give it genuine character; it reads as lived-in rather than decorative.
