About Rookery Retreat
Tucked on the edge of a working cattle farm near Ettington, Rookery Retreat offers a self-contained glamping escape for those craving a dose of rural Warwickshire. The setup centres on a shepherd's hut with kingsize bed, sofa and woodburner, paired with a separate woodman's hut housing a compact kitchen and bathroom with shower and eco toilet. Your own fenced outdoor space includes a gas barbecue, chiminea and a choice of lounging spots – deckchairs, bench or hammock – making it ideal for couples (and their dogs, who can roam freely once the gate's shut).
The village pub and shop are a short stroll away, handy for morning bread runs, while Stratford-upon-Avon lies just 15 minutes down the road and the Cotswolds are within half an hour. It's a peaceful, pared-back retreat, though those seeking on-site entertainment or pristine glamping polish might find it a touch basic – this is firmly about simple farm living and quiet.
