About Brockford Sidings Campsite

Tucked onto the old trackbed of the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, this quiet farm campsite offers a slice of peaceful Suffolk countryside within easy reach of the A140. The 'Middy' may have closed in the 1950s, but pop over the road to the volunteer-run museum at Brockford station to see what rail travel was like back then—part of the track's still open to explore.

With space for up to 25 pitches, including electric hook-ups, the site is refreshingly low-key and dog-friendly, complete with a dedicated dog park. Families and single-sex groups are both welcome, and there's wifi if you need it. The nearest country pubs are about a mile away—owners suggest bringing bikes for the full Suffolk pub-crawl experience. Stowmarket and the A14 are just 15 minutes west, putting much of East Anglia within easy striking distance.

We (2 families with 2 big tents) had a fantastic stay at Brockford Camping near Stowmarket! The site is peaceful, well-kept, and has a lovely countryside feel. Pitches are spacious with plenty of room to relax, and the facilities are clean and well looked after. It’s a great spot for families, with easy access to local attractions, and the hosts are welcoming and helpful, making sure everything runs smoothly. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy the Suffolk countryside – highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our time at this campsite. It's only 16 pitches which makes for a nice and calm, no overcrowded experience. The toilets and shower facilities are high quality, and being able to control a shower's temperature is a real treat at a campsite! The location is great, nice and quiet, surrounded by fields. Just down the road is the Suffolk Light Railway which also has a cafe (open Fri/Sat/Sun - times vary) and bar (open Friday 6-10pm, Sunday 11-4) which are really nice. The bar especially felt like a real hidden gem! We will be visiting again, no doubt at all. One small suggestion would be offering a small freezer to be able to freeze ice packs would be really handy for campers so we can keep our cool boxes, cool. Not a massive deal, can always go and buy more from the Co-op on a food run but would be a fantastic addition to the site :)
