About Overtown Manor

Wroughton sits on the edge of Swindon, handy for exploring Avebury and the North Wessex Downs, and it's here that Overtown Manor makes its home. This small manor house B&B has just six rooms, each en-suite and comfortably sized, giving it a quieter, more personal feel than a larger hotel.

Breakfast is homemade and generous, and the kitchen also turns out evening suppers for those who'd rather not venture out. There's a bar on site, a garden with outdoor seating, and an outdoor swimming pool that's heated for cooler days. Free WiFi, laundry service, luggage storage and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, while meeting rooms make it workable for those combining business with a stay. Pets are welcome, and free on-site parking is provided.

The surrounding area offers walking routes, plus pubs, restaurants and other entertainment within reach for evenings out. Staff are attentive and the atmosphere is consistently described as warm, making Overtown Manor a good base for a relaxed stay in Wiltshire.

We had a family celebration weekend for 12 people at Overtown Manor and we had a fantastic time. The house and gardens are certainly as good as the photos! The house was exceptionally clean and well appointed with enough space for everyone and the gardens and pool were well used by the younger members of the party, especially the heated pool. Nancy was the perfect host, attentive but never intrusive; just the right balance. In all a five weekend at a five star location.

Last week we did a hands on cookery session with Nancy - 3 generations of us preparing food together. Nancy kept it beautifully relaxed and ensured that each one of us got involved and enjoyed it. We would highly recommend this experience and would definitely do it again. Thank you so much to Nancy and her team.

There’s not much that I can say other than ‘perfect’. We booked Overtown for a surprise birthday weekend for a family member (& all of the family in tow) On arrival there were so many lovely touches that made everyone feel perfectly at home. Local bread , butter & milk , homemade flapjacks etc. It’s a wonderful building & surrounding farm , the accommodation as welcoming as it is luxurious. The communication from Nancy beforehand was brilliant , down to what bedding we would like (it was a very hot weekend & beautiful sheets & bedspreads were perfect) . The pool was the centre of the whole weekend - there’s ample seating , a bbq , non breakable drink ware , pool towels etc. Honestly , there’s not one thing that hasn’t been thought about . We are all just figuring out when would be best to book again. Okay , I did say more than ‘perfect’ .. & I could go on . 100% recommend a stay here.

A lovely manor house on the edge of the downs, ideally located for hill walking with Barbury Castle, Avebury stone circle , Little cote House and the Ramsbury Brewery all within close range. The house was very comfortable, and Nancy, the lady of the house, very helpful and also a very good chef for evening meals. All in all, a very memorable stay.
