Best site we've ever stayed at facilities wise, couldn't fault a thing, which is unusual for us! Lovely location and echo all previous lovely comments about Jamie & Lynette, new wardens for this year seemed nice and friendly. Used the Bus service to visit the local outdoor heated lido (highly recommend), checking with the driver that there is a return bus running is a must as we later found out it wasn't (3.29pm on Friday). Luckily a very pleasant chap who owns the Hotel in Wiveliscombe (William Sitner, restaurant critic, no less) furnished us with a couple of local taxi driver numbers.

We have just returned from 3 very enjoyable days/nights at Waterrow, and would definitely visit again. We were welcomed very cheerfully on arrival (despite the cold!) and given lots of hints and tips for our visit. We purchased their booklet of local walks (£1 in honesty box) and did two of them. We stuck to the (very quiet lanes), as suggested, but when the ground is less soggy, it would be very easy to go off and explore the many footpaths (with the help of an OS map). We caught the bus from outside the site into Dulverton, which was great - the amenable drivers stop if you wave out! We had intended to walk into Wiveliscombe and catch the bus back - but misread the timetable so ended up walking both ways. It was fine - but the buses are quite few and far between so it's best to double check! There is a lovely new bookshop in Wivey (Chocolate Books) - well worth a visit - and plenty of places to rest and eat. The site itself is small and pretty and, despite its proximity to the B road, we found it very quiet - only the owls to be heard at night. There is a lovely managed woodland area down by the river where it would be nice to sit on a warm afternoon. Although only one shower was open in both the male and female areas (presumably because there weren't many people on site at this time of year), they were clean and lovely and warm and we didn't have to wait. There are also dish and laundry washing facilities, and a drying area. In summary, a nice little site in a beautiful area - thank you!
