Not a dog friendly hotel, they pretend to be and once you're there they make up arbitrary rules like can't leave the dog more than 2 hours for no reason. The hotel itself is run down, a bit unclean and the bed is not comfortable at all, the lights have a life of their own. Rooms are hot and stuffy and the fan they give you is the most useless fan I've ever seen. You'd think they'd make up for it in politeness but no, they ignore a "do not disturb" sign because they need to know our plans for the day (as if it's any of their business). A terrible stay all together.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Royal Ashton Town House - the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the staff (Meg and others) were very friendly and helpful. In fact, I left my coat behind by mistake and they very kindly posted it back to me. I would definitely recommend.

Pros: Our room was very clean, spacious, and quiet. We slept very well. Excellent helpful staff. Cons: En suite was far too small. TV signal poor, kettle did not fit the tap to fill up. No light for mirror (wife not happy).

Don't go when its hot. If you're on the top floor, the rooms dont allow any form of breeze so if it gets hot it will stay that way. There's not much they can do about it either as they only have small fans that you cant really feel
