Gambledown Farm - Skylark - Safari Tent

The Test Valley's rolling landscape rewards exploration on foot, and Gambledown Farm sits well-positioned for rambling through the surrounding countryside. The working farm itself keeps animals on site, which children often find engaging, and there's an on-site shop for basics. A rough track serves as the access road, which is worth knowing about before you arrive.

Skylark is a safari tent with two bedrooms—a king-size, a twin, and a double futon in the open-plan living space—sharing one shower room. The tent holds up to six people across bedrooms, lounge and dining area, with a gas hob for cooking and a woodburner for warmth. Electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard. Outside, you have an enclosed garden with terrace, seating and a barbecue. Parking for two cars is on site. One dog is welcome to stay.

The setup suits families and groups after a slower pace of life without roughing it entirely. If you want to use the sauna or ice bath, both available on site, you'll need to arrange access and pay a separate fee. Cots and high chairs can be requested in advance.
