The Shepherd’s Huts at Hilltop Farm
Test Valley
These shepherd's huts occupy a working farm in Test Valley, where ten private acres of meadow and woodland provide genuine seclusion. Two huts contain the bedrooms – one with a double bed, one with a three-quarter double – while a third hut houses the kitchen, and a fourth contains the bathroom with its roll-top bath. The layout means moving between spaces, which becomes part of the experience rather than an inconvenience. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; you can cook proper meals, and there is parking for two cars on site.
The huts are positioned to encourage wandering the grounds rather than clustering around a single building. A fire pit allows for evening gatherings, and covered seating areas dot the property. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted. The nearest pub lies within a mile, and Romsey's independent shops and cafés are a short drive away if you need to leave the farm. The setting suits those wanting to disconnect from suburban routines without travelling far from civilisation.
