About The Carpenters Arms Felixkirk
The Carpenters Arms sits in Felixkirk, a small village a few miles from Thirsk beneath the Hambleton Hills, and has developed a reputation well beyond its size for its seasonal, produce-led cooking, much of it grown in the inn's own kitchen garden. It functions as a genuine village pub as well as a place to stay, with a bar and lounge alongside the restaurant.
Accommodation runs to ten rooms in total: eight Garden Suites with private terraces looking out over the Vale of Mowbray, and two House Rooms within the original inn building finished to a similarly high standard. Dogs are welcome throughout for a small nightly charge, and the inn offers private dining space for small events.
Felixkirk's quiet, elevated setting suits visitors who want a rural stay within easy striking distance of Thirsk, Sutton Bank and the wider North York Moors, combined with a dinner worth planning the day around.

Really good food with friendly staff! 😁 I had a steak & Alex pie with garden veg and creamy mash with a side of white cabbage kimchi. For a desert I had a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream which was really nice, it was lighter than I thought and didn't overfill me which was perfect ☺️ The Carpenters Arms wasn't too busy at 2 O'clock when I arrived but there were still quite a few peeople in for food. The staff were really friendly and gave you the specials as soon as you were comfortably seated. They all sounded amazing ✨️ I would 💯% come again

Restaurant Review: booking recommended, we called up last minute for a table of 8, they were initially unable to fit us in. But they very kindly called back moments later and were able to accommodate us in the private dining area - this was a privilege. What a beautiful restaurant. The service was brilliant, especially with the kids. And the food was outstanding. A very good children’s menu, with choices of fish, steak, burgers and more. Lovely courtyard gardens to wonder around and stretch off your belly afterward.

Stunning stay! We stayed in the king room and it exceeded our expectations. The room was beautiful, large, warm and welcoming, with bottles of water, plenty of teas and coffees, a coffee machine, gowns and slippers not to mention a super comfy bed with an outside seating area. The bar/restaurant has a wide range of food and drinks and is a lovely place to have a meal. Breakfast was delicious. We will be back.

Had a great Sunday roast here. It didn't seem busy but the car park was full. It is deceptive, it is a lot bigger inside than I expected. The roasts looked good and the staff looking after us was great. I did have the steak pie, normally I don't have gravy. But it was needed as the inside the pie itself was rather dry. It was packed with filling, but not as succulent as I had expected. At least it was a proper pie, not just some pastry on top of the filling. The service wasn't rushed so we could take our time, and it was friendly.
