Spice Village - Upper Tooting Road

As a Local Guide, I’m always on the lookout for places that can handle a group while maintaining high food quality, and Spice Village absolutely nailed it. We visited as a group of 7 to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid, and it was the perfect choice. ​The Ambience: The place has a really cosy, welcoming vibe great for family gatherings and special occasions. ​The Food (A absolute triumph): We ordered a feast, and every single dish delivered on flavor. ​Starters/Mains: The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the fish was excellent. Both the Achari Karahi and the Charsi Chicken Karahi had distinct, authentic flavors. The Chicken Biryani was fragrant and well-balanced. ​Desserts: Do not leave without trying the desserts! The Kheer was traditional and delicious, but the Malai Lotela Cake was absolute heaven (so yummy!). ​The Service: What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. The staff was incredibly courteous throughout our visit. A special shoutout to Umar and the rest of the team for taking such great care of us and making our Eid celebration so memorable. ​Highly recommended! I'll definitely be back.

Popped to London for a day out and found this restaurant by chance. What a find. Lovely decor and settings. Service and waiters were amazingly helpful. Ordered a mixed grill and other starters. Lovely flavour and sizzling to the table. Finished off with ice cream and halvaa and chai. Big mention to the waiter ASHRAF who was always about for help. Defo come back again

Came down to spice village after a long long time. (Since I’ve been on a diet) they also had 50% off today which is a bonus. I ordered an Afghan lamb karahi and a butter chicken. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant was great! Even though they were so busy. They had 2 lines, 1 for eat in and 1 for takeaway and each line was flowing well. When i got to the front a nice young brother took my order and made sure everything was correct and gave me my receipt. I made 3 separate orders and he repeated them all and made sure everything was good. He then told me it will be a half an hour wait, which was great to hear considering their line was out the door. Alhamdulilah, around 35 minutes later he called out my order numbers and everything came fresh PIPING HOT. I loved the butter chicken, it is 100/10. I got 7-8 pieces and it was flowing in a nice creamy sauce and when you would bite the chicken it will just melt in your mouth and all the flavours will expand. It was just beautiful. I will 1000% go again tomorrow while they have that 50% to grab another butter chicken. Absolutely delicious! Thank you to staff and owner for great service had great chat with them all!!

The food was absolutely amazing! I’ve only tried butter chicken before this and today I got to try from my friends, lamb vindaloo, lamb briyani and my butter chicken. All was AMAZING. Onion bahji was so so good and the popudams! Garlic naans just wow. Daim served us and he was super friendly and helpful. Will be coming back 100%!
