We had a fantastic Easter Sunday lunch at The Wheatsheaf, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, festive, and perfectly suited for a family celebration. Highlights of our Visit: * **The Food:** The roast was exceptional—perfectly cooked meats, crispy potatoes, and all the seasonal trimmings you’d hope for on Easter. * **The Vibe:** Despite being a busy holiday, the restaurant felt organized and welcoming, with a great buzz that didn’t feel overcrowded. * **The Service:** Truly top-tier. ### Special Shout-out to Tyler A massive thank you to Tyler, who looked after us throughout the afternoon. Tyler was incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our glasses were full and everything was exactly to our liking. Tyler handled it with a smile and genuine care. The Wheatsheaf has definitely become our go-to for holiday celebrations. Excellent food paired with even better service!" We’ll definitely be back soon. Went here for my birthday this evening with family and the food was superb! The steak was to die for and was a stand out for me. One of the waiters seemed to be very new, as he kept looking at us trying to get his attention to order more drinks/dessert then walking away, so my brother had to literally call out to get his attention which felt rly rude of us, but we were sat waiting for ages with no drinks and dirty plates so didn’t know what to do. When he delivered our desserts, he asked us to remind him of the dessert we’d ordered bc one was missing even tho we reiterated our order multiple times, so it came ages after the rest which was a shame as the food was lovely when it did arrive. The other waiter seemed great and was on it though so will revisit just hope the service is a touch smoother next time.

Really busy pub on a Sunday. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There was a bit of a wait for the food but it it was 'cool' rather than hot. Didn't want to wait for the food to be heated as I was quite hungry at this point. There was a different server each time through the meal but they were pleasant. This is a dog friendly pub.

Absolutely incredible roast. Great portion size. Lush roasties. Definitely the best pub cauli cheese I’ve ever had. I had chicken which I’d never normally pick but it looked fantastic. It did not disappoint. Really crisp flavourful chicken breast that was really moist. The only slight disappointment was the gravy. Which was very standard. Not unexpected when catering for such huge numbers but was the only thing on the plate that wasn’t 10/10. Will definitely be back. Thank you!!
