About Inglewood Palm Hotel Abbey Sands Torquay

Belgrave Road sits within walking distance of Torquay's seafront, putting the English Riviera coastline, cycling paths and countryside walks all within easy reach of the Inglewood Palm Hotel Abbey Sands Torquay. It's a straightforward, low-rise base spread across two floors, with free on-site parking a useful bonus for anyone driving down to Devon.

The 53 rooms are practical rather than plush, all with en-suite bathrooms, and there are family and accessible options among them. Free WiFi and in-room drinks are provided, and luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. It should be said that the hotel's overall guest rating is on the low side, so those booking should expect a functional stay rather than a polished one.

Golf, fishing and watersports are all nearby for the more active, while pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues sit within reach for evenings out. Walking and cycling routes around Torquay make it easy to explore the coast and surrounding countryside directly from the hotel.

To say disgusted would be an understatement. Booked a room on air bnb and arived a few hours later to be greeted by the most disgustingly run down hovel of a building I've ever seen. After parking the car we attempted to enter the place and were met by a very rude little man who clearly received no love as a child and were told to leave because the place was closed down and had been for 3 months. I told him I had booked and paid for the room online and he laughed at me and said go get your money back then. Don't waste your time with this place it would be better of demolished and turned into a carpark.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL only gave 1 star so i could post the review, do not book this place booked as a last minute weekend away with my kids, paid upfront only to get here the place is rundown, no one here to sort your booking, looked derelict few other people came up to us to say it was closed and they had the same thing and had to spend money elsewhere to stay. Called the number on booking.com to be told that they aren't taking bookings due to unforseen circumstances 🤔 well they took my money this morning?! Absolutely fuming booking.com looking into it and I best get my money back!

The room looks like my Nan has decorated it, really outdated with granny floor and lampshades. The service is non existent the room is tiny for 3 people. We have no cold water in our shower and the plug sockets don't work. Location is the best part as its a short walk to the beach, I would not choose to stay here again. Looks like a homeless hostel. I've lived in homeless hostels that look better than this...

Clean enough room. Bed was very comfortable & had everything I needed. The hotel overall was shabby, ignored & given up on. Very sad to see such a big building of such potential just being flushed away, got the inclination that owners possibly want to run it down & make make big bucks selling as location & site are fantastic. Woman caretaking was extremely helpful very nice. There was a hole in my bathroom floor which I found totally amusing tbh, fitting. I paid very little for the room so my expectations were probably met. Just do happy the bed was a wide single & comfy.. So overall slept beautifully & that's what I was there for. So no complaints
