The Lookout

The Lookout is a solid-built pod that sleeps two, positioned in a residential part of Torquay with direct access to a private garden. Everything needed for a short break is supplied: electricity, bed linen, towels and heating are all included, and there is a welcome pack on arrival. The single open-plan interior contains a double bed, kettle and toaster—cooking is limited to these basics.

Outside is where the appeal lies. A six-person hot tub sits in the elevated garden, along with seating and a cold-water shower for rinsing off after beach visits. Parking is on the road. The only bathroom facility is a separate outdoor toilet. Dogs are welcome and stay free; there is a washing line for wetsuits and leads, and outdoor sockets if you need them. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Torquay's beaches, shops and restaurants lie within easy reach, and coastal paths begin less than a mile away. Brixham, Dartmouth and Exeter are all within striking distance for day trips. The property suits couples or small groups wanting something different from a conventional holiday let, and those with a dog looking for a base near the South Devon coast.
