About Waters Edge Hotel

Waters Edge Hotel is a sizeable seafront property on Torbay Road in Torquay, with 46 rooms spread across a straightforward, no-frills building set directly opposite the beach. It's a casual sort of place rather than a polished one, and the rooms themselves are kept simple, though many look straight out over the water, which goes a long way to making up for the plainer furnishings elsewhere.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. There's a lift for guests who'd rather skip the stairs, free WiFi throughout, and drinks available in the room. Downstairs, a bar and dining area cover the basics, and there's a garden for guests who want to sit outside. Practical extras include luggage storage and a laundry service, and pets are welcome.

The seafront location puts the beach on the doorstep, and the surrounding area is well suited to an active break, with cycling and walking routes nearby, along with watersports, fishing and a golf course. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries are within easy reach too, and there's entertainment nearby for evenings out. It suits guests after a straightforward, well-placed base by the sea rather than a luxury stay.

We booked one extra night down in Devon after spending the week with family. We had a lovely one night stay here. Bed was comfy and perfect location for us. View was lovely to wake up too. Host was welcoming. Thank you!

Brilliant place right on the water front with stunning views and very nice welcoming staff. I had booked a night stay but accidentally booked for the wrong day, the staff fully understood and booked me in for that night, very helpful and was no problem. Really cheap and I will be staying again when im next in the area.

I was a bit worried to come to this hotel after reading some of the reviews but it was actually pleasant surprise. The location is beautiful. Yes, the hotel needs a bit maintenance but for the price we paid it was a very good value for money. So I would come again.

This could be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve been to some dumps. Don’t expect any sleep at all, like none. The creaking floor rooms only seem to be assigned to people on tap dance training, or wrestlers rehearsing. The rooms are dirty, not grubby or aging they are DIRTY. The bathroom sink is conveniently located NEXT TO THE BED. Honestly, it’s like a joke. We will be going through the credit card company to get this botch joke refunded. At a guess, I imagine this hotel was purchased by some cowboy property investors looking to rip people off. Avoid at all costs, it’s not even cheap.
