About Livermead House Hotel
Sea views from almost every angle set the tone at Livermead House Hotel, right on the seafront at Torquay. It's a traditional hotel with an outdoor swimming pool, garden and picnic area making the most of the coastal setting, plus a gym and spa or sauna for guests who want to relax indoors. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and there are family and accessible options along with a bridal suite for those booking the property as a wedding venue. Some of the decor shows its age in places, though the overall atmosphere is described as comfortable and relaxing rather than smart or modern.
Food is a strong point, with a restaurant and bar serving generous portions, including a well-regarded Sunday lunch and a solid bar menu. Breakfast, packed lunches, room service and drinks in the room are all available, and staff are consistently noted as friendly and attentive. Additional practical facilities include a lift, laundry service, luggage storage and free on-site parking, along with meeting rooms for those combining a stay with business.
The seafront location puts walking and cycling routes, watersports, fishing and golf all within easy reach, alongside nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment. Pets are welcome, making it a straightforward base for exploring Torquay and the wider Devon coastline.
What guests say
Booked this place for 2 nights when we attended a wedding nearby. Honestly at first the lift was sketchy and the room was tiny and we even considered booking elsewhere. However.... We went with it and gave it the benefit of the doubt and so glad we did!! The team are amazing. The cocktail making barman 👌🏻 omg he is amazing 👏 and all the staff are friendly and seem to love their jobs. We visited during the heatwave a few weeks ago and it was super hot and their uniforms are full suits and honestly I felt sorry for them but they didn't seem to care. They were loving life! And so was I chilling by/in the pool sipping cocktails. The food!! We only ordered from the bar menu as it was too hot for 3 course meals... the food was delicious 😋 we met some othets who were staying and spent the evening sipping drinks and chatting in the garden then the bar when it got late and honestly I have never felt so at home in a hotel. The room was small but we did book a "small double room", we just didn't expect it to be that small! Heatwave and a small bed was not a great mix 😅 but thankfully we barely spent time in the room. Location wise, its great. We walked slowly into town, took about 30 minutes but I am super unfit. We went shopping in the town and then caught an uber back to the hotel. All in all, definately recommend booking in just maybe not a small room if ur chubby and its a heatwave 🤣

The reason for 3 star is mainly for the car park of the hotel that i had paid for later on received pcn to my home address saying I hadn't pay for it my bank clearly shows payment had been made but unfortunately on top of that had to pay pcn as i my appealing got refused by the hotel, i would recommend this hotel but when you pay for your car parking ask them for a proof or something otherwise you might receive pcn to your home address.

Called in as non-residents for coffee whilst walking along the seafront I thought the price for 2 coffees was a little high until we were presented with coffee & hot milk served in pretty silver jugs alongside a plate of delicious homemade shortbread biscuits. It was perfect & an absolute delight sitting in the pretty garden overlooking the sea.

We had a lovely birthday meal here today, we sat in the conservatory with fab sea views. The food was really great, generous portions & very reasonably priced. The service is brilliant. Definitely recommend.
