Flaxmans - The Stable
Torridge
Within a few miles of Flaxmans – The Stable lie some of north Devon's best-known draws. Westward Ho! beach, 7 miles away, stretches for 2 miles of sand and is a magnet for surfers. The nearby villages of Clovelly, Bucks Mills and Hartland are worth exploring for their character. Bideford, the larger port town, has restaurants, a market and boat trips to Lundy Island. For quieter pursuits, RHS Rosemoor and Docton Mill are close by, and local footpaths crisscross the countryside.
The Stable is a converted farm building on a 300-acre working property near Parkham village. It has 2 bedrooms – one with a double bed and ensuite, the other with a double and two singles – plus 3 bathrooms. Everything is on the ground floor or accessed via a sloped pathway and a few steps. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher and washing machine. A woodburner, air source heating and hot water are included, along with Wi-Fi. Bed linen and towels are provided. The property sleeps 6 and comes with parking on site.
The owner offers guided farm tours, and there's a children's play area on the grounds. A thatched pub is a 5-minute walk away if cooking isn't on the agenda. The property is no-smoking throughout. Travel cots and highchairs are available on request.
