Pip’s Hut

Torridge

A shepherd's hut built for solitude, Pip's Hut stands alone across four acres of open meadow in Torridge, with countryside stretching towards the distant line of Dartmoor. The building itself is the point—a single detached structure reached by footpath, surrounded by enough space that the only sounds are wind, birdsong and the occasional movement from nearby woodland. There is initial fuel for the woodburner included, and gas central heating to back it up on colder nights.

Inside is a single ground-floor room: living area with the woodburner, dining space, and a kitchen corner with a gas hob, air fryer and fridge for simple cooking. A double bedroom (4ft 6in) and shower room with heated towel rail complete the layout. Bed linen and towels are provided. The hut is yours alone—there are no shared facilities or other guests on the land. A back garden has seating and a firepit for evening use.

The location suits anyone wanting genuine quiet: the four acres mean real distance from neighbours, while low light pollution leaves the night sky full of stars. A private parking area takes two cars. No smoking is permitted inside. The footpath access and the hut's size make it most suited to couples or two people travelling light.
