The Ridgeway National Path and Thames Path are both within reach, and Upton itself has a 12th-century church and a refurbished pub just 500 yards away. The George at Upton serves food, and the village shops sit a mile down the road. This puts you in walking distance of genuine countryside without being cut off—London is 45 minutes by train from the main line, and both the M4 and M40 are accessible for day trips.

The Bothy is a single-storey cottage attached to Upton Fruit Farm House, set within a 16-acre former orchard that is being restored as traditional parkland. Two bedrooms (one kingsize, one with two singles) and a bathroom serve four people. The ground floor includes a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge-freezer. A utility room has a washing machine. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; heating is electric central. Outside, a large lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture provides space to settle in, and there is bike storage and private parking on site. No smoking is permitted.
