Packs an exceptional range into a remarkably small space. Dropped in on a recommendation and were really glad we had. Mini g, POWs history of Sanquhar, The Marches and the fascinating tale of the admirable Crichton amongst other. Well worth visiting

Great little museum - lots of local objects are carefully preserved. Clearly people of this area have been industrious and entrepreneurial. Unfortunately the 8m audio-visual presentation was not available when I visited. The lady at the desk dismissed it as it was produced in 1980s. But we expect to see old materials in museum:)!

Definitely worth a visit. Excellent displays and history of Sanquhar. No entry fee.

A small but charming and informative museum. We were met by a very friendly young man. The museum has a LEGO trail for children, along with a special corner where you can take photos or keep the kids entertained with drawing activities. Don’t miss the old prison on the ground floor—be sure to read the accompanying information, as it’s filled with amusing and fascinating stories.
