About The Walnut Tree Inn
The Walnut Tree Inn suits travellers after something simple and practical rather than a destination stay in itself – a stopover on a longer journey through Wiltshire, or a base for a night or two while exploring the surrounding area. With just three rooms, it has the feel of a small local inn rather than a large hotel, and free on-site parking makes it an easy option for anyone arriving by car.
Guests get the basics covered well: breakfast is available, there's a bar and restaurant on site, and 24 hour reception means arrival times don't need to be planned around a front desk schedule. Free WiFi and luggage storage add convenience for those passing through, while meeting rooms and wedding venue facilities mean the inn also caters to small gatherings and events, not just overnight stays.
Yeovil Golf Club is within reach for anyone looking to combine a stay with a round of golf, and Gillingham in Dorset lies a short drive away for those wanting to explore further afield. It's a straightforward, unfussy base in Warminster for guests who want somewhere convenient rather than elaborate.
People say this restaurant offers delicious food, including a superb carvery, hand-battered fish and chips, and a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options. They also highlight the reasonable prices and the warm, friendly, and accommodating staff. Guests mention the comfortable rooms, clean facilities, and a pleasant atmosphere, with some enjoying live music.
