Incredible mosaics and history! Fishbourne is a fascinating site and a must-visit if you’re in the area. The sheer scale of the palace is impressive, but the Roman mosaicsare the true highlight—seeing the "Cupid on a Dolphin" in person is worth the trip alone. Pros: Stunningly preserved floor mosaics. Beautifully reconstructed Roman gardens. Knowledgeable staff and a decent onsite cafe. Cons: Some of the museum displays feel a bit dated. Can get quite busy with school groups during term time. Overall, a great, educational afternoon. Well worth the entry fee for any history lover!

Lots to see, good outdoor area to rest. No waiting time really, little coffee hut outside. Rramp running throughout the building which is great for wheelchair access. Lots to see with a little museum section and great models on display. Little gift shop on site too.

We took our 8 Yr old disabled grandchild here over the Easter holidays. Access is superb inside the Palace. He loved the quiz finding patterns in the mosaics. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Tea, coffee and snacks are available from a great little vendor on site. Our grandson struggled a bit outside on the gravelled pathways but not a major problem. Thoroughly recommend a visit 😊

The largest preserved Roman palace in the United Kingdom, Fishbourne has exceptionally well preserved mosaics and a faithful recreation of a Roman garden. The mosaics, situated in their original location, were discovered in the 1960s, and form the largest collection anywhere in the country. Floating walkways provide easy access for viewing, and displays cover the history and features of the site. A separate room covers the full story of the palace, its discovery and archeological work to uncover it. The garden is meticulously maintained, with immaculate topiary, herbal plants and an information room. Onsite facilities include free parking, a basic café and toilets. Prices at the time of visiting in summer 2025 were £13.95 per adult, with a 50% discount for English Heritage members, representing good value for such a historically significant and well presented site.
