Pendle Hill via the steep route ,tough on the legs but the views are something else. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and it never gets old. Wind, rain, sun or cloud, this place always delivers. Wild, raw, and steeped in history, with the story of the Pendle witches never far away. It takes your breath away in every sense, but it’s always worth the climb.

There is a car park, plenty of spaces and toilets available. We walked up pendle hill which was clearly sign posted, the steps leading up were tough but your up them in no time, and then we circled back around, stopped off at a restaurant on the way back to the car park and had a brew. Great views Not too long or short

Parked in Barley and did the 1 mile walk, past the pods, to the steps at the foot of the steep incline, lovely scenic walk, it was a hot day so appreciated the breeze going up. We are not experts ,so walking 60 steps a time then taking a minutes breather ,worked well for us, 2 women 40s,, The views are breath taking on the way up and reaching the trig, you get a full 360 view, the wind hits you there, but being crazy, i found crouching like on a loo,did not protect you, but lying flat in the grass did, but this is only good if you want to rest and admire the sky 🤣 we managed a 15 minutes break here then walked down to the right ,down the dusty slope. Again, easy enough, just wear sensible footwear and take a drink and an energy bar. We saw lots of dogs but sadly no-one carrying a drink for them, which was quite upsetting to see. Personally, I thought it was too hot for pets, but each to their own. We finished off back in Barley and stopped at the first, beautiful pub on the left The Barley Mow, lovely quaint and clean, the food looked amazing although we didn't eat, we sat outside in the sun and had lemonade and coffee. It was an amazing day. I'd do it again tomorrow. Ps.. not sure why my panoramic view looks like a set of breast, it was relatively flat from that position 🤣
