Ambleside's oldest quarter holds A Stone's Throw Cottage, a converted property tucked away from the main road but steps from the town's independent shops, cafes and traditional pubs. The Golden Rule and Zeffirellis are nearby, along with outdoor retailers stocking fell-walking gear. It's a base for exploring the surrounding fells or simply wandering Ambleside's lanes.
The cottage has two bedrooms—a kingsize and a double—and one shower room, sleeping four. Downstairs, a wood burner warms the living room, and the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Heating runs underfloor in these main rooms. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There's parking for one car on site, and a small sitting area to the front.
The place blends old and new: original oak beams and flagged floors sit alongside contemporary furnishings. It does not allow smoking, and is not suitable for children under 14.
