Blue Heron Lodge is a converted barn on large grounds near Kirkby Stephen, with a hot tub that comes at no extra cost. The whole property is yours alone, set back from the road with mature gardens, a summerhouse (shared with the owner), and a stream running through the lower part of the grounds. Two steps lead down to the garden level. Parking is available for two cars, and there's a bike store if you're planning to explore on two wheels.

Everything is arranged on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with Smart TV and bi-fold doors onto the garden, a kitchen equipped for cooking (electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave), and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Two bedrooms sleep four—a kingsize and two singles—plus a walk-in shower room with heated towel rail. The essentials are covered: electricity, heating via oil underfloor system, bed linen, towels and wi-fi. One well-behaved pet stays free.

Kirkby Stephen and Appleby are both close by, with independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs. The location sits between the Yorkshire Dales, North Pennines and Lake District, making it convenient for walkers and cyclists. No smoking inside the property.

Love this accommodation. Very modern, very relaxing location, hot tub and views are great. Owners are very welcoming and on hand to assist if required. Highly recommend.

Just spent a week here, and it was wonderful. Already looking for next years dates. Clean, tidy and with all the things you need. The hot tub is lovely, even on a cold November evening! Parking is excellent and it's close enough to the lakes. Penrith has plenty of shops. Can't wait to go back as we didn't see all the things we wanted to.

Wonderful cottage. I have to say one of the best equipped also. Quality furnishings and fittings. With everything you Need plus more. Smart TVs, WiFi, hot tub and lovely beds. Loads of space for outside activities. Only improvement I could suggest. Maybe a BBQ?
