Brockholes Farm - Oaktree Cottage
Westmorland and Furness

This converted farm building sits on Brockholes Farm, where three cottages share grounds along the River Lune with views across the Howgill Fells. The setting puts you within reach of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines, each offering their own terrain for walking and exploration. The river runs through the grounds, and there is a children's play area on the shared land; one well-behaved dog can stay free, though sheep farming means they must be kept on a lead.
Oaktree Cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms across two floors. Ground level holds a living room with Freeview television and an electric wood burner, plus an open-plan kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Upstairs are the bedrooms: one with a single bed, one with a double, and one with two singles. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included. Oil-fired heating keeps things warm, and you have private parking for two cars on site.
The cottage works for families with younger children—a travel cot and highchair are available to request. The enclosed sitting-out area has garden furniture, and you can walk across the owner's land or fish the river. Two miles from Tebay and close to the M6, it suits anyone wanting hill country and water without being deep in a remote location.

Can not rate this place highly enough, been twice now and planning a 3rd visit.. Stunning views in every direction. Amazing if you have animal loving children.. only a short drive to windmere, good access from M5 motorway. Chances are, highland cows will be blocking the road in. We all found it funny. Coombe cottage was immaculately clean, very big. 8 of us stayed there and never felt on top of each other. Lovely park just outside the cottage. You almost have full access to the farm in day time which is amazing.. highly recommend

A couple of friends and I had our first stay here just for the weekend. For the price we paid we are amazed with it. The cottage was amazing. Warm and cozy. The beds are so comfy. We had our Farm tour with Kim. She is so friendly and brilliant. We will be returning next year, hopefully for a week!!

Perfect stay with friends at Coombe cottage, the accomodation is ideal for 2 families of 4. Dog friendly too. The cottage was clean and tidy, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The surroundings are breathtaking, right next to the river. The play park was a great hit with our children age 12-14, with plenty of outdoor space to run around and kick a ball. The farm experiences were fantastic for all ages, we particularly loved feeding the Highland Cattle. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you

Spacious cottage with beautiful views over the river! We went on the farm tour and capybara experience with Anna and we absolutely loved it! Seeing the animals up close and learning about them was amazing! Anna was so lovely! We also did a little river walk! The dinosaur play area was a hit with our children! Lots to explore within half an hour of the farm too! We would definitely stay again, loved every minute! Thank you ❤️
