Chapel Cottage dates from the 1700s and retains many of its original features, set in the small village of Helton. The cottage offers countryside views and direct access to walking routes, with Ullswater and Haweswater nearby for those wanting higher-level terrain. Penrith is ten minutes' drive away if you need shops or services beyond the village.
Three bedrooms sleep six: a king with ensuite shower on the first floor, two singles, and a bunk room. A further bathroom has a bath and cubicle shower. The ground floor holds a living room with woodburner, separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a utility room with washer-dryer. Wifi, electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and logs are included. An enclosed patio garden with furniture and BBQ overlooks the surroundings, and private parking is available for two cars.
One dog stays free. The cottage is not suitable for smoking. Families with young children will find a cot, highchair and stairgate available. A mile away in Askham village are two pubs and a shop.
