The Laburnums is a four-bedroom house built in the 1800s, set in Askham village where the River Lowther runs alongside. The property sleeps eight and comes with parking for four cars. Everything you need for a self-catering stay is provided: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, plus initial fuel for the wood burner.
Downstairs, a living room with woodburner opens onto a spacious kitchen and dining area with full cooking facilities and dishwasher. A utility room has a washer-dryer, and there's a wet room with shower. Upstairs, four bedrooms offer a zip-and-link super king bed (which can split into two singles), two king beds and a pair of single beds. The main bathroom has a bath with shower over, and there's a separate shower room. The house is furnished to a high standard throughout, with original period features including the 19th-century staircase in the entrance hall.
Outside, a large enclosed south-facing garden with patio and furniture provides space for meals outdoors. The village itself has two pubs and a shop within walking distance, and in summer you can reach Askham Outdoor Swimming Pool. A covered well sits in the grounds. The property does not accommodate smoking. Children under 16 and adults over 16 are welcome; the property includes a travel cot, highchair and stairgate.
