High Cup Nick is a forty-minute walk away—a geological spectacle that rewards the effort with views across the Eden Valley to the Lake District fells. Cherry Barn sits on the outskirts of Dufton, a quiet village on the Pennine Way, making it a natural base for serious walkers and cyclists. The market town of Appleby, three miles south, sits on the River Eden and has a railway station on the Carlisle to Settle line. Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish border are both within easy driving distance, as are the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks.

The converted sandstone barn has two bedrooms—one with a super king bed, one with two singles—and a bathroom with both bath and shower. Downstairs is an open-plan living space with a woodburner, smart TV, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Essentials including heating, electricity, linen and towels are included, along with wi-fi. There is parking for two cars on site and a bike store. One dog is welcome, though must be kept on a lead in this sheep country.

Two hundred yards from the cottage, Dufton's pub serves evening meals and the tea room opens for afternoon tea. The village green and its immediate surroundings are the hub of local life.

Brilliant place if you like peace and quiet. Not much to do which isn't a bad thing.🤣 Place itself was nice could do with a little bit of TLC but all in all a great place and amazing location right next to the church with stunning views. Recommend if using Google maps to search for st Cuthberts church as sat nav has an annoying habit of sending you to the old rectory entrance when you need to use the church entrance to gain access to the barn.

Really good barn conversion, all amenities provided. However, access is a nightmare, especially when the weather is bad. Not as close to Dufton as specified.

Myself and the Wife were child free for a rare weekend. We wanted somewhere peaceful, away from any hustle and bustle and lastly good walking nearby. We weren't disappointed. Beautifully laid out accommodation, which was clean and well equipped, fantastic location in the shadow of Dufton Pike with Dufton Village itself only a short walk away. Already looking at booking again for next year.
