I have come in here after a long and tedious 5 hour drive from the south and I have to say it’s really lovely. I walked in (looking lost probably!) and the lady at the bar with dark red hair and glasses was really polite and friendly. I ordered the lasagne which was delicious! The atmosphere is really nice too. Glad I found it! And it’s in the middle of the lovely little town square area. Perfect! Just what I needed! ☺️

Stayed one night at Venue. Last minute decision for a break away. Situated in the middle of the village. Room was great. All you need. A fan which was much appreciated. Staff and service exceptionally good. Food was amazing and not over priced. Breakfast. Great choice and very well presented. Gluten free menu available which was really positive. Indian across the road. What's not to like. Would highly recommend.

Lovely old pub, very cosy and welcoming. Stayed over for one night in a clean, comfy bedroom with huge double bed. Great location and excellent staff. Breakfast was superb served in breakfast room. 5 minute walk to free car park. Bar area is nice but drinks are pricey.

Great classic British inn in Appleby and my first time staying at an inn. Full of character and very welcoming. The food was good overall. Breakfast was the highlight, especially the Cumberland ring sausages which were superb. Dinner was fine but not quite as memorable. Would happily stay again.
