Coomb View Barn

Couples and small families will find Coomb View Barn a comfortable base for exploring the Lake District edge. The barn sits on a 100-acre working farm, where the rural setting brings genuine quiet—the kind that comes with dark skies and open fields rather than marketed peace. You get the whole place to yourself: two bedrooms (one with a zip-and-link super king, one with a double), a bathroom with roll-top bath and walk-in shower, and a first-floor living space that opens onto countryside views. Parking for two cars is on site.

The kitchen has what you need to cook properly—electric oven, hob, dishwasher, and a breakfast bar facing out over the land. Upstairs, the open-plan living and dining area holds a gas fire, smart TV, and a leather sofa arrangement for evening comfort. Ground-floor heating is underfloor; the essentials like electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included. There's a lawned garden with patio, furniture and a barbecue for outdoor meals. You can also access parts of the farmland itself from the property.

Kendal, the old market town, is within reach if you want shops and cafes. The barn does not allow smoking, and hen or stag parties are not accepted. A travel cot and highchair are available if you ask ahead. Note that there is a step into the garden.
