Crescent Cottage

Westmorland and Furness

Crescent Cottage suits couples and families of up to four looking for a base in the northern Lake District. The Grade II listed end-terrace sits among sandstone cottages in Askham, a village designed by architect Robert Adam in the 1770s for the Lowther Castle Estate. Built in the 1770s as workers' housing, it retains authentic period detail while offering modern essentials—Wi-Fi, central heating, and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washer-dryer included.

Downstairs holds a living room with woodburner and Freeview TV, plus the kitchen-dining space. A shower room and separate bathroom with bath serve the two bedrooms upstairs: one with a king-size bed, one with two singles. The cottage has its own garden with seating area and parking for one car. A four-step entrance leads to the lower ground floor where the shower room is located. No smoking is permitted.

Penrith is four miles away; Ullswater and Keswick are within reach for walking and water activities. The Eden Valley and surrounding villages are close by. The village itself, centred around lawned courtyards, offers a quiet setting for exploring the fells or simply spending time in the garden on warmer days.
