Heronwood

You enter Heronwood into a warm, lived-in space where the woodburning stove anchors the living room. This is a traditional cottage in the centre of Coniston, which means the village itself—its shops, restaurants and local life—is on your doorstep, but the landscape beyond is what makes it work. Coniston Water and the surrounding fells are genuinely within reach without a car journey. Three bedrooms and a bathroom serve five guests, with electric heating and wifi to keep you comfortable between days outside.

The kitchen is set up properly for self-catering, so you can eat when you want rather than around restaurant hours. A sunny garden sits behind the cottage, furnished for sitting out and eating, with a BBQ for straightforward suppers. A beck runs along the rear boundary, fenced for safety. Books and games are here for quieter evenings or rainy afternoons. Bed linen and towels are included; one well-behaved pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking. Arrive after 15:00 and depart before 10:00.
