The Hayloft is a converted barn sleeping two in a kingsize bedroom, with everything needed for self-catering already in place. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven, microwave and fridge; the living room has a television, DVD player and radio. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. A walk-in shower, heated towel rail and separate toilet serve the bathroom. The single-storey layout means just three steps to the entrance.
Outside, there is parking for one car on site and a small lawned garden to the front with seating. A bike store is available. The property sits in Crosby Garrett, a quiet village in the Yorkshire Dales, close enough to Kirkby Stephen for shops and restaurants but far enough out for genuine peace. Bridleways lead directly from the cottage across low fells and valleys, including sections of the Coast to Coast path. Cyclists find the country lanes manageable, and nature reserves at Smardale and Sunbiggin Tarn are nearby for birdwatchers. Penrith, Windermere and Keswick are all within an hour's drive. Smoking is not permitted.

What guests say
The campsite has several fields and offers varied types of pitches and accommodations. We enjoyed a whole field with only a couple other campers during a 2-night, midweek booking on one of the hottest days in June. The site has access to the river Eden and there are even steps to allow easy access for swimmers. The owners are charming and helpful. We enjoyed a circular heritage walk from the campsite with the assistance of an article kept at reception. Highly recommended!

An absolute gem of a campsite. I cycled coast to coast and found this site by chance and at last minute. The day I arrived there was a mini festival happening, which happens once a month and finishes up at 9pm. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, I've decided to come back with my family. The staff and owners were incredibly helpful and inviting I cant recommend this site enough.

Lovely, peaceful and well kept site, good sized pitches giving a feeling of spaciousness with views over the valley to Lazonby. Great walks from the site and a lovely play area for young children. Modern and clean facilities with friendly and helpful owners, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Thought we were staying at a CAMC CL site.... they're in the sites directory. OMG massive site, every farm field was either full of caravans/mohos more tents than Glastonbury!!!! Toilet waaaaayyyy insufficient for the tents, let alone anyone else. Honesty shop....ferrel kids going in saying "just leave 10p you can have anything" .. planning permission make the site even bigger. B road too it is driven by idiots...says statutory so I'm going to do 60!!!! Child will get run over one day crossing over. Bar barn, live loud music....16 amp electric. NO ALL ON SPLITTERS... kept tripping out. NO EMERGENCY MOBILE NUMBER...says dial 999.... joke if its a site problem. £38.00 a night rip off. WONT BE STAYING AGAIN. Would have moved on but they had our money up front. I'm not a prude...but expect to be on 5 van quiet site when I book one.
