This detached cottage began life as railway workers' accommodation and was substantially reworked in 2022, blending original character with a contemporary extension. Positioned on a small working farm high in the Eden Valley, it sits within reach of the Westmorland Dales, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The single storey layout keeps everything on one level: an open plan living space with woodburner and French doors to the garden, a kitchen with gas and electric cooking, one bedroom with a kingsize bed, and an ensuite shower room. A shared utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer for longer stays.

The cottage comes with its own sunny, enclosed garden and private parking. Essentials including wi-fi, heating, bed linen and towels are covered, along with wood for the burner. Kirkby Stephen market town is 2½ miles away—the Coast to Coast walk runs through it and the Settle-Carlisle railway has a station there. Appleby, known for its castle and annual horse fair, lies 9 miles distant. One dog stays free. No smoking indoors.
