Smardale Mill Shepods - The Ash
Westmorland and Furness
The Ash is a shepherd's hut with a contemporary pod structure on top, sleeping two in a single bedroom. It sits on a working farm in the centre of the Eden Valley, positioning you between three major landscapes: the Yorkshire Dales, the Eden Valley itself, and the Lake District. Smardale Gill National Park is within easy reach, with the viaduct offering notable views. A ten-minute walk brings you to Scandal Beck, and a network of footpaths spreads across the surrounding countryside. The area suits cyclists and mountain bikers—there are established trail networks including the coast to coast route—and walkers of varying ambition.
Inside, the layout is open plan across the ground floor. The living space contains a sofa bed and a smart TV; the kitchen is fitted with an electric hob, a combi microwave and grill, and a fridge; the bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6in); and the shower room has a cubicle shower and toilet. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Heating is electric and central. You have a private garden with seating and a dedicated parking space for one car. One dog is welcome and stays free, though it must be kept on a lead at all times. A bar and restaurant are two miles away. The property does not permit smoking.
