Townend Cottage

The Eden Valley near Soulby makes a natural base for walking and cycling holidays in the North Pennines and Lake District. Townend Cottage sits adjacent to a working farm, offering four guests a private, rural retreat. The property is semi-detached and comes with parking for two vehicles, an enclosed lawned garden with seating area, and a bike store.

Inside, the living and dining room has a wood burner and a 39-inch Smart TV. The kitchen is equipped for cooking from scratch, with an electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two singles. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, reached via three steps. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included; initial fuel for the burner is also provided. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

Kirkby Stephen and Appleby are both within easy reach—market towns with independent shops, cafés, restaurants and traditional pubs. The surrounding area has walking routes for all levels and varied cycling terrain. No smoking throughout the property. Note that there are three steps to the bathroom and an unfenced drop in the garden. One pet is welcome.
