Printers Cottage

Ambleside is the Lake District's busiest walking hub, with fell routes, lake cruises, and restaurants within minutes. Printers Cottage sits on the quieter edge of the village—far enough from the crowds, but close enough that you can walk to shops and pubs in under five minutes. The cottage is an end terrace with its own parking space and small front garden.

Inside: a ground-floor open-plan living area with a gas fire and television, a kitchen with an electric cooker and microwave, and stairs up to two bedrooms. One has a double bed; the other contains two single beds. A shower room serves both. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included. The cottage does not permit smoking.

You can leave the car and explore on foot—Lake Windermere is half a mile away, and the fell walks that draw most visitors start from nearby. If you're travelling with children or as two couples, the twin bedroom setup keeps costs down while keeping everyone comfortable.
