Sea Crest
Westmorland and Furness
Photo: Google Maps
South Walney Nature Reserve occupies the southern tip of Cumbria, a windswept stretch of dune and shingle where grey seals surface at high tide and migratory birds stop en route. Sea Crest sits within this landscape, close enough to walk the reserve's paths and far enough from development that sunrises and sunsets dominate the horizon. A pub lies within a mile if you need one; otherwise the draw is the place itself—eider ducks, oystercatchers, sandwich terns depending on the season, and the kind of quiet that makes binoculars and a guidebook feel essential rather than optional.
The cottage sleeps 6 across three bedrooms and one bathroom. The master has a king bed, shower en-suite and wall-mounted TV; the second is another king; the third contains zip-link twins that convert to a double. Downstairs are all three bedrooms plus the family bathroom with shower over bath. Upstairs, the living space opens to those views. There's a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, a log burner for colder months, and the essentials—electricity, bed linen and towels—are provided. No smoking inside.
