Storrs Retreat works well for couples or small families wanting to be near Lake Windermere without being in the thick of Bowness. The apartment is on one level, with an open-plan living and dining area that flows into a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine included. One bedroom has a super king bed with ensuite shower; the other has two single beds. The main bathroom has a bath with shower. Both bedrooms have their own heated towel rails. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all covered.

You get your own parking space on the Storrs Park grounds, which matter here since there's no proper pavement to Bowness along the road. The apartment opens onto a private balcony and shares access to landscaped grounds where you can catch glimpses of the lake in winter. Bowness village and the lake steamers are a short drive away, and the main roads for exploring the fells and valleys are easily reached. The property does not accommodate children under 5, and smoking is not permitted indoors.
