The Old Bothy

Families and larger groups will find The Old Bothy works well for a week away. The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms—a double on the lower ground floor with garden access, two singles on the same level with their own bathroom, and a further two singles upstairs. Two bathrooms mean mornings run smoothly. The whole place is yours alone, with wi-fi, heating, and the essentials covered; the kitchen has a proper cooker and dishwasher for self-catering, and a wood burner and open fire for atmosphere. There's an enclosed garden with patio furniture and parking for three cars on site.
Built around 1750, the stone structure sits in an elevated spot close to Ullswater's shore, with views toward the Eastern Fells. The location puts you between Glenridding and Pooley Bridge, both lakeside villages with their own appeal. Walks start from the door—the water and fells are the immediate landscape. A pub is a mile away; shops three miles. Kirkstone Pass connects this end of the lake to Windermere if you want to explore further into the National Park. One thing to know: there are steep and narrow stairs within the property. The cottage does not permit smoking.

Amazing place. I think me and my family have been like 3 times and every time was great. No complaints at all. I definitely recommend it :)

a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. peace and quiet. Need a car to get around but lovely walks nearby. The deep bath was a godsend after a day in the hills. It is like a tardis... looks tiny as you approach but really spacious inside
