Tirril Lodge is a characterful country house built to last, with the space and layout to accommodate large family groups or gatherings of up to 12 people. The property sits within its own grounds on the edge of the village, with lawns, an orchard, and patio areas where you can settle with a drink after time outdoors. The Queens Head Inn is within walking distance, and there's car parking on site.

Inside, five bedrooms are spread across two floors. The first contains a kingsize bed with ensuite and corner bath, plus a second kingsize with shower ensuite. A third bedroom has a kingsize and single bed, a fourth holds a single, and the fifth has two singles and bunk beds, sharing a family bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, there are two living rooms (both with open fires and televisions), a dining room, kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a breakfast room. Essentials including electricity, bed linen and wifi are covered; the initial fuel for the open fires is provided.

This corner of Westmorland sits close to Ullswater, three miles away, and within reach of Penrith's amenities. Fell walking, water sports on the lake and pony trekking are all nearby. No smoking throughout the property, but one dog is welcome to join you.

Brilliant place for a large group. Lovely big house, large gardens, plenty of parking space and very handy for the northern lakes.

The house, gardens and orchard are a joy, it is so peaceful and a perfect place to unwind. The rooms are spacious, very light, the sun pours through the windows. We can't wait to go back!

Dated but brilliant. I love old Manor houses and this ticked all the boxes. Was big enough for our group to do our own thing but also come back together for activities. Some mould, damp and cracking appears throughout which while strangely it adds to the charm, could do with being updated before damage ensues as I'd love to visit again.
