Weavers

Westmorland and Furness

Photo: Google Maps

Grasmere has enough to occupy most visitors without leaving the village. Wordsworth's Dove Cottage is open as a museum; there are galleries, cafés and shops to browse; and the fells rise immediately from the streets, with Silver How, Helm Crag and the Fairfield Horseshoe within reach on foot. A pub sits a mile away for when you want to eat out.

Weavers occupies the upper floors of a converted mill building. The first floor contains an open-plan living space, with a kitchen fitted for proper cooking, and a bathroom with both shower and roll-top bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with singles—connected by a sloped ceiling and beams. Large windows at the gable end frame views across to the lake and surrounding fells. The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included.

Private parking is available on site. No smoking inside. The village centre is walkable, so once you've parked the car, you can leave it and explore on foot.
