Gloucester House

We stayed overnight at Gloucester House to celebrate an anniversary. We found Jonathan and Karen to be most professional hosts who were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Our first floor bedroom was of a good size with tasteful decor and fabulous, uninterrupted views over the sea. We had a great night’s sleep, in a comfortable bed, with good pillows! The following morning we enjoyed their freshly cooked Dorset breakfast, which was the best we’d tasted in a very long time. Gloucester House certainly exceeded our expectations and lived up to its well-deserved reputation! Thank you Jonathan & Karen for a wonderful stay…

Went for a wedding in Weymouth and was recommended this hotel by the wedding party. Location was great, 3 min walk from Weymouth station, beach on the doorstep. Great atmosphere from the host and staff, all very friendly. The host, Jonathan and his staff were very hospitable and always made sure we were happy. The breakfast itself was very good, a lot of choice and open to changes outside of the menu. The room itself was perfect, clean, modern and had all the amenities needed. Can't recommend this place enough. Definitely great value for money.

A wonderful small seafront hotel. The whole interior is well designed and we felt very comfortable straight from the the first moment. Jonathan and Karen a wonderful hosts and manage to make you feel at home. Breakfast is outstanding. Freshly made and all you can think of. Out 2 nights at Gloucester House were more than a 5 Star experience. Thank you so much.

We stayed at Gloucester House for three nights at the beginning of July and had a wonderful time. Our family of four stayed in a room under the roof. It was spacious enough for us and very comfortable. Although we experienced some very hot summer days, this wasn't a problem at all. The room had a portable air conditioning unit and running it for just ten minutes before bedtime was enough to cool the room, allowing us to sleep very comfortably despite the high temperatures outside. The location right on the beautiful seafront is fantastic. Being able to walk to the beach in less than a minute and swim in the sea was a real highlight. From the moment we arrived, Jonathan and Karen made us feel incredibly welcome. They helped us with everything, from parking permits and unloading the car to explaining everything we needed to know about the accommodation and the local area. The absolute highlight of our stay was the outstanding breakfast. Our daughters loved the hot chocolate with marshmallows, while we enjoyed excellent coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious granola with yoghurt and berries, wonderful croissants, a traditional Dorset breakfast, and avocado on toast with perfectly poached eggs. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. There truly was something for everyone. Jonathan is a born host. He is warm, attentive and genuinely interested in making his guests feel at home without ever being intrusive. His recommendations for places to visit were excellent and added so much to our stay. Karen, meanwhile, creates the most amazing breakfasts and deserves every compliment as well. We would love to return one day and send our warmest greetings from Germany to Weymouth. Thank you both for making our stay so special!
