About The Pier Inn

The Pier Inn suits anyone after a proper harbourside base in Whitby rather than a quiet retreat out of town. It's a working pub with rooms above, right by the water, and the setting does a lot of the appeal on its own, with harbour views and the old town's landmarks within easy reach on foot.

Rooms are straightforward and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in room, and family rooms for those travelling with children. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, and the bar and restaurant downstairs handle the rest, serving a hearty full English breakfast alongside a solid choice of beers and wines. Staff are generally friendly and the atmosphere is lively, often with live music, though service can be a little slow when things get busy.

Parking is available, which is worth having given the town's narrow streets, and the location puts golf, fishing, cycling, and walking all within reach, along with plenty of other pubs and restaurants nearby. It's a good pick for a sociable seaside stay rather than a peaceful escape.

Lovely pub. Lovely room. 9pm came and the balcony was cleared of pub goers due to people staying in the rooms. Which was a nice touch. Don't let the parking put you off. Plenty of 24 hour parking at the marina and not too far to walk. Lovely breakfast
