What visitors say
Pleasantly suprised how much we enjoyed it. My daughter is obsessed with marble runs so had to bring her to see them and they were amazing! But not only that she was so intrigued by the glass sculpture making we watched. They were absolutely fantastic at what they do! Definitely will be visiting again!

On the way home from our holiday today I decided to take my 46-year-old husband (who is, in reality, a very tall child) to the House of Marbles, as it’s somewhere he has apparently wanted to visit for quite some time. I must say, it’s a lovely place. There’s a fascinating glass workshop where you can watch a very skilled gentleman blowing molten glass into beautiful shapes, a museum and viewing gallery that are free to enter, and plenty to look at while learning about the history of glass and marbles. There are also large marble run tracks which, I quickly discovered, are apparently irresistible to grown men who never quite progressed past the age of twelve. We even stayed for lunch in the restaurant, which was excellent and well worth a visit on its own. However, I would like to offer one small piece of advice to other visitors: keep an eye on your adult children. In my case, the adult child in question completely ignored the clearly visible price signs and happily wandered off to the till clutching a bag of glass marbles like he’d just discovered treasure. The result? My 46-year-old husband has now spent his entire monthly allowance on a bag of glass balls and will not be receiving any more pocket money until next month. All in all, a wonderful place to visit — just be prepared if you bring along a husband with the enthusiasm of a small boy and absolutely no understanding of budgeting.

Lovely place. Nice playground wjth games such as giant jenga and chess in the back garden. Nice souvenir shop. There is a balcony where you can watch people doing glass blowing. Coffee shop is lovely and has a nice selection of food from ploughman's sandwich to fish and chips to mussels. Highly recommend. Hood place to stop for lunch after walking on the Moors.
