The Calf Shed is a converted barn on a working farm in Wiltshire, positioned for exploring the county's archaeology and countryside. Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle and Silbury Hill are all within an hour's drive; Bowood House, Lacock Abbey and Westonbirt Arboretum are similarly close. Royal Wootton Bassett, three miles away, has pubs, restaurants and shops. Bath, Bristol and Oxford are each about an hour away by car.
The property sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a zip-and-link super king (convertible to singles), one with a standard king—and two bathrooms, one en-suite. Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining area with a wood burner, 49-inch smart TV, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave. A utility room has a washer-dryer. Heating is underfloor throughout. Linen, towels, wifi and initial logs for the burner are all included.
Outside is a sitting area with garden furniture and private parking for two cars. The property is non-smoking.

The cottage was clean, warm and nicely decorated. We appreciated the generosity of our hosts with the provided bath toiletries and the home baked flapjacks. Highly recommended.

Daughter stayed here and really liked it. The Old Dairy is available on Air BnB. We visited and helped them light the lig burner. Very friendly host who runs the farm.

Our third stay at this beautiful property. It never fails to deliver just what we want - a retreat from this crazy world! Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortably furnished and peaceful. Jackie and John are the perfect hosts - there when you need them but leave you to it the rest of the time. Always such a welcome too with the essentials - milk and prosecco - in the fridge and flapjack in the tin! Can't wait to visit again. 🙂
