A great find. - Restaurant & Bar. We live locally and wanted to try somewhere different for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the whole menu was gluten free, even the desserts. (Husband is coeliac and we often struggle to eat out with confidence). Highlights - the steak was cooked to perfection and the onion rings were really crispy, you’d never know they were gf and the sea bass which was also beautifully cooked with a crispy skin. The lemon tart was light and pastry crispy. The restaurant and bar has a warm inviting and relaxed atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. An enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Staff were super lovely and we were able to get a last minute late check out which was perfect because it gave us more time to enjoy the room and the hot tub. The bed was really comfy and all the little touches in the room made it a perfect last minute getaway. You could definitely tell it was a family run business in the best ways possible. We dined in the Apple Restaurant in the evening, the service was attentive and the food was delicious. To put it simply we will 100% be back again. Thank you for a lovely getaway!

Great hotel in a convenient location for shops, bars and restaurants in Windermere. Also a short walk from the train station. The hotel has plenty of parking too. We stayed in the main part of the hotel in room 11 on the top floor. It’s a dual aspect room with a great view and plenty of space. The bedroom and bathroom and were both immaculately clean. The room had nice furnishings, a comfortable bed and the bathroom was lovely. We had breakfast twice and dinner one evening. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and relaxed. This is a lovely family run hotel. Everything is done to a high standard and the building is amazing. If you like a bit of history, you won’t be disappointed.

Stayed here for 4 nights beginning of June. Booked on bed and breakfast basis, but after eating in the restaurant on the first night, the food was so good we ate in the restaurant each evening. The owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Our room (room 9) could not have been better with lots of space and superb en-suite and fantastic views across to the lake and hills beyond. Plenty of on site parking and lots within easy walking distance.
