The eight rooms are en-suite and come with mini-fridges and decent toiletries, plus family rooms for those travelling with children. We had a wonderful stay at Glencree in Windermere. Ian, the owner, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him—he's always smiling, helpful, and genuinely wants to make sure his guests have the best possible stay. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the centre of Windermere, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great selection and everything cooked to perfection. Our room was very comfortable, with a cosy bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The shower had excellent water pressure, which was a lovely bonus after a day out exploring. We also really appreciated the little fridge in the room—such a thoughtful addition and very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glencree to anyone visiting Windermere. We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing stay, nothing was too much trouble for our host Ian and conversation was ready. I asked for sweeteners at breakfast and he specifically bought them for me. Breakfast was outstanding, and you can tell the best produce was used. Ian was even conscious of the smell of breakfast in the hotel and used air freshener so there was never that awful greese smell. Had all amenities that you could need, coffee, tea etc all of good quality. Hairdryer, heater and fan if you needed them. Also shampoo, conditioner etc was provided, although we didn't use. The bedding was very clean, but some marks on the throw, but we didn't use that so no issues. Obviously not noticed on last check out. You can tell it's now starting to look a little worn around the edges and a deep clean of the skirtings etc would be beneficial and then I wouldn't hesitate to give this a 5 stars. Has a small patio area with BBQ you can use if needed which is a very cute touch. Would absolutely stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at Glencree. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated with charming antique touches. The location is perfect, with easy access to Windermere Station and Bowness-on-Windermere. The breakfast was outstanding—the best English breakfast we have ever had. Ian was a wonderful host who took great care of us throughout our stay. We highly recommend Glencree and would happily stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at Glencree for four nights in July. Superb location, a couple of minutes walk into town, with off-road parking. Excellent room, furnished to a very high standard, including wine chiller and mini fridge. The host, Ian, was very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely stay again!
