Ivythwaite Lodge Guest House

We stayed at Ivythwaite Lodge last August and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We stayed in the luxury double room in the attic, which was spacious, beautifully presented, and incredibly comfortable. The room was spotless, well-equipped, and provided a peaceful retreat after a day exploring the Lake District. Andrew and Abigail were wonderful hosts, offering a warm welcome and plenty of helpful recommendations for places to visit and eat locally. Andrew also took the time to provide us with a map of a scenic road trip route around the Lake District, which we followed and thoroughly enjoyed. It took us to some beautiful locations that we might otherwise have missed and was one of the highlights of our visit. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a great choice of freshly prepared dishes and high-quality local ingredients. One of the highlights was the freshly made muffins that were available to take with us each day—a thoughtful touch that was much appreciated when we were out exploring. The location is ideal, within easy walking distance of both Windermere village and Bowness-on-Windermere. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations, and we would not hesitate to recommend Ivythwaite Lodge to anyone visiting the Lake District. The combination of comfortable accommodation, exceptional hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and local knowledge made for a truly memorable stay. We hope to return in the future.

We stayed for two nights and found it above expectations on all counts. Room was extremely well considered and well appointed with comfortable mattress and everything we needed. Breakfast was really good, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We really appreciate them going the extra mile to send some left behind clothes back to us. Parking is tight for large cars, and we appreciated the ability to charge our EV from the provided socket. Altogether this was a really pleasant stay with hosts that know how to please.

Gorgeous B&B in a great location within walking distance of both Windermere & Bowness. The hosts are super, nothing is too much trouble and the breakfast is so tasty! Our room had old school charm with lovely touches such as homemade cake and quality toiletries for your use. We wished we were staying longer than 2 nights!

Wow, what an absolute gem of a place! The moment you walk through the door it feels so warm and welcoming. The room was immaculate and like the rest of the house was beautifully decorated. Plenty of tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and the most delicious ginger cake in the room! Breakfast was delicious, you could either go down to the dining room or you could choose to have a breakfast tray brought up to your room, we choose the latter which was lovely! Andrew and Abigail were very friendly and we can’t wait to stay here again ⭐️
